My first retail job at c.v.s pharmacy and the register?
i have a lot of experience working with registers, and in my first job came up short or over a few times, bosses understand this and will usually give you a break, especially such a small amount, six bucks is no big deal, this will also just teach you to be more careful, so dont worry, you'll get the hang of it!
Reply:He probably doesn't think you took the money, you just gave the wrong amount of change to someone. Always count the money back to the person by the bill. Don't just hand them a lump of bills and say for ex.$14.12 is your change. Good Luck and congratulations on having a job!
Reply:talk to your boss , give it time, no one is perfect on the register, believe me im on it all the time and there are more days that i came up short and its more than 6 dollors. the only thing i can tell you is take your time don't hurry on it the more that you hurry the more mistakes you. make speed will eventually come to you. and when you get big bills lay it on top before putting it in. and count their change back. expeceally if you get a 50.00 or 100.00 dollars. lay it on the counter while counting, give it time it will all come in time. if you know that you didn't steel then don't worry , sometimes the register acts up.
Reply:This happened to me when I worked at a seven-eleven. It was one of my first jobs too. The manager called me into work to address the question, I think it was five dollars? What happened was the register had gotten full at some point or the money might have gotten caught inside when I closed the draw. I don't know If this is worth you going down there and trying to see if this may have happen to you too? I was standing with the Manager and we both looked at the register together. I removed the money tray and sure enough the money had gotten jammed in the back, there was the five dollars. Please, if you do this make sure the manager witness' this!
I hope this can be of some help. If this ends up being not the case for you it could be a mathematical error. This can also happen. Take heart, and try to understand we all have to start some where and it gets better with time.
Good Luck and Best wishes!
