Future software Programming will be C#?

I m 24, looking for a career change to software from Electrical industry after 4 years. I know C and c++ to some extent,My friends suggested me to take up C# %26amp;.NET instead of J2EE/J2ME is it right option, also they said i can not get job in 5 month it will take atleast one year before I get the job. Am i too ambitious to get job in 5 months time, Job prospect for C#?

Future software Programming will be C#?
I run a very small (myself and a partner) web and software development company in Philadelphia, PA. Our primary development technology is .Net %26amp; C#. I can honestly say that I turn down several job offers a year because I don't want a real full-time job.

A good programmer (or someone with the potential to be one) can do a lot in 5 months. If you're the type who can just sit down with a programming book and go through it, I would recommend getting O'Reilly "Programming C#" and a copy of Visual Studio .Net 2005 and start reading.

Also, if you don't know SQL, you should definitely familiarize yourself with Microsoft SQL. Programmers are MUCH more valuable when they can work with a databse.
Reply:Yupz...NET is widely use nowadays and definitely it will become more usable in the future becauze of it's simple way of uses languages that can suite the programme u build in it.C# is 1 of the simpler language to be use in .NET programming and more it is easy to modify and get the source code from the internet nowadays..u should go on with it..but make sure u're really serious to become a website/software developer..good luck Dude!!
Reply:i have not heard anything about a C#....you probably know more than me...
Reply:i think c sharp and dot net are the right things adviced to u. i am a it professional. 5 months is a acheivable thing my friend. need help for the languages message me.
Reply:c# and .NET are the latest buzz, but if you're ambitious go J2EE - java has been around for a lot more than .net, has a lot more codebase to offer - which translates to you doing more in less time. java has proven it is here to stay, and .net and c# have to do that yet.
Reply:its better for u to take c#.
