Washington D.C.?

My dad may get a job in Washington D.C., and I want to move there with him (I live in California). Problem is... I'm in the middle of 6th grade, and don't want to leave my friends!

So, shou;d I wait till Summer Vaca to move, or should I just move?

Washington D.C.?
Do what feels right to you, but it seems it will be somewhat disruptive to move in the middle of the school year. So why not move after school ends!
Reply:I hope you love it here. Also, maybe your friends (and their families) will come visit you from California if you live close to Washington. It's a great city with a huge amount to see! Report It

Reply:This is the sort of decision that adults usually end up making for you, unfortunately.

If you end up having to move now, there's one advantage. While you'll be "the new kid" for the rest of this school year, by the time the new school year starts in September you should already be one of the gang, with friends to have lunch with and do stuff with. You should also have some Washington friends to hang out with over the summer, which wouldn't be the case if you waited until the summer to move.

Either way is tough, but be sure to talk with your dad and any other adult you trust to help you make the right decision.
