So I can't get a job b/c I have bad credit from my ex-husband. But I have to quit this job I hate it.?

I've been paying off bills do you think that employers will see that they are being payed off and see I'm reliable to hire me. I hate that credit scores tell you if you can do a job or not. I've seen surveys that show that it has nothing to do with the other. I hate life so much. I wish I had the balls to just end it.

So I can't get a job b/c I have bad credit from my ex-husband. But I have to quit this job I hate it.?
I'm experiencing the same problem; however, I just got a new job and IF a credit check was done then I still got the job. I would ask if they did a credit check and if they do and you really want the job - just be honest with them. I just got hired 9 months ago and ex-husband defaulted on credit cards he was to pay, now I have to file bankruptcy and I'm the City Auditor for our State Capitol. Good luck. And remember, "they can't kill and eat you!!!"
Reply:the only companies I know of that check credit reports in a hiring process are any jobs that work with a large amount of money daily. Exp. Casino's, large banks, cash room personel for vending routes and such, etc.
Reply:Anything that has your ex-husband's name on it, if you were just authorized user on a credit card. Then it is not your debt. You can get it removed from your credit materials. I had to do that with my ex-wife when she went and defaulted on stuff after the divorce.

If you are co-signed then you are stuck since you are legally responsible with him.

It took me three years, a parental loan for 30Gs, and boatload of self restraint to get myself out of the quagmire my ex-wife left me in. But now I'm straightened out, you will get there to.

Only some jobs will look at your credit rating, so keep plugging away at it. Bad items will slowly go away over time, try to get what you can removed or fixed.
Reply:Millions and millions of people have bad credit. I also have bad credit. Many of us were forced into bankruptcy because of unexpected medical bills.

It's my experience that most companies do not check your credit at all.

I believe you can get a job, even if you have bad credit.

Don't give up. Eventually, you can make your credit better.

Good luck.
Reply:I was once in your place for over 10-years. I thought I was doing the correct and moral thing by trying to pay these debts off even though they were not mine...my suggestion to you is file bankruptcy. I certainly wish I had!

As far as a job...find a small Mom and Pop business to work for. They usually are willing to give people a second chance.

Good luck to you!!
