I mean they are jobs i think most people wont do b/c they think they are to good for those jobs RIGHT
Why do many people have a problem with immigrants taking some jobs???
I have no problem with anyone who comes to this country legally taking any job they are able to do. But this is America and the jobs it produces are for Americans. If you like our economy, our freedoms, our way of life, our laws, then by all means find a legal way to come join us, become one of us, add to our work force, our culture, support this country, and love it as we do.
Reply:because some non-immigrants donesnt want that job, so someone such as those immigrants have to do it.
Reply:because they aren't qualified. I didn't get my degree to just sit around on my butt and watch while illegal immigrants are doing what I should be doing.
They don't only do "yard work" work.
Reply:Wrong.
Reply:I take blow jobs others don't want.
Reply:I have no problem with a legal immigrant getting ANY job, it is the illegal ones I oppose.
Reply:i don't care if immigrants take on jobs that others don't want...but they should take on the jobs legally with a green card
Reply:PEOPLE DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IMMIGRANTS HAVING ANY TYPE OF JOB. IT IS THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS THAT POSE THE PROBLEM.
THEY ARE MOSTLY PAID UNSER THE TABLE IN CASH WITH NO TAXES BEING HELD OUT SO THEY DO NOT CONTRIBUTE THEIR FAIR SHARE LIKE LEGALS DO. THEY THEY SUCK OUR TAX DOLLARS OUT OF THE SYSTEM SO THAT THEY CAN GET THINGS FROM THE GOVERNMENT.
THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN IMMIGRANT AND AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT.
GET THE FACT RIGHT BEFORE YOU ASK QUESTIONS.
The following 10 facts have been pulled from the LA Times.
1. L.A. County has 10 million people. 40% of all workers in L.A. County are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card.
2. Of the 10 million people in L.A. County, 5.1 million people speak English. 3.9 million speak only Spanish.
3. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
4. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.
5. Over two-thirds of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
6. Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.
7. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.
8. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.
9. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.
10. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish language only
Reply:------------------------------... Germany is home to millions of immigrants, 3 million of whom are Muslim. The majority were invited to the country as gastarbeiters, or guest workers, mainly from Turkey. Faced with a labor shortage in the 1950s, and 60s, then-West Germany encouraged foreigners to fill positions in factories and in construction.
“The Germans recruited untrained and uneducated people,” said Steffen Angenendt of the German Council on Foreign Relations. “It didn’t seem necessary to have academics come to Germany to work on an assembly line. They were trained on the job.”
Given temporary visas, the Germans expected the workers to come, make money and then head home.
What the government didn’t count on was the employers’ reluctance to let trained workers leave. So the men stayed and then brought their families — along with their traditions, religion and culture.
The immigrants settled together and neighborhoods slowly began to reflect their new inhabitants. Signs were hung in Turkish, supermarkets sold Turkish products and stands selling kebabs — a traditional meal in a sandwich similar to a gyro — popped up in nearly every German city.
“They came in the sexual revolution and they saw the communes — men, women and children living together. It was a shock for these people, so of course, they put up borders,” said Seyran Ates, a lawyer who works with immigrant women. “It was automatic. They felt, they don’t want us here, and on the other side, we don’t want to be like them; they are immoral,” Ates said.------
As German industry changed and the need for more qualified workers rose, the jobs filled by many of these laborers disappeared, leading to widespread unemployment.
“The discussion on integration problems you have today is to a large extent a result of this immigration,” said Angenendt, who was part of a committee which suggested future immigration policies for the government. “These workers had no ability to adjust to the labor market.”
Although there were efforts at the city and state level to assist in integration, little effort was made on a federal level -- an oversight that has ramifications even today. Language has proved to be one of the bigger challenges. Many immigrants and their families don’t speak German, which makes it more difficult for them to find work.
“Integration never really started,” said well-known actor Mehmet Kurtulus, who came with his parents as a baby to Germany from a small town in Turkey. “The Germans missed the point that workers are people with families.”
This is especially obvious in the German school system, in which even second-generation children perform significantly worse than their native-born counterparts, according to a report by the international Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.
Even more notable is the finding that immigrant students of Turkish origin perform worse in Germany than in Switzerland, which also hosted a guest worker program in the 1950s and 60s. In addition, the schools which immigrants attend are overwhelmingly homogeneous, leaving little room for students to build relationships with native-born children, according to the report.
------Sound a little familiar?????
Reply:I have no idea, because the only illegal immigrants that I have personally known have been line cooks in dirty disgusting bar kicthens, and I definatly dont want that job. But there were some citizens working back there too ... so it's not like they took all the jobs. Let these people try and get a better life for themselves and their families. They're not hurting anyone.
Reply:Its not that. Its the fact they are not doing it in terms of the laws here. Do it legally and pay your way. Whats wrong with that?
Reply:I have no problem with that.
Reply:We have no problem with immigrants...Our country was built on immigrants. What we have a problem with is ILLEGAL Immigrants. If you want to live in our country, you need to become legal and pay taxes and contribute like everyone else. If you want access to ANY public services, you should be contributing. So if your here illegally, go back to where you came from or abide by our laws!
Reply:That is true, but at the same time, they are taking the jobs that Americans do want to have and want to take.
Reply:Only 2% of illegals do those types of jobs. The rest are either involved in a life of crime (35% of all people in prison are illegals) or drive down wages for poor blacks through illegal means.
What happened in New Orleans is typical. Residents who lost everything, including their jobs when New Orleans was destroyed, got jobs rebuilding the city. One day, busloads of illegal immigrants show up and all the black workers were fired. They were told, we don't need you any more, the mexicans are here.
Reply:Wrong, Low paying because of illegal immigrants. No worker to do job, Wages have to be increased!
Reply:zzzzzzzzzzz, snore, zzzzzzzzzzz!
please wake me up when this is over. thanks
Reply:A lot of Americans work in my town doing minimum wage jobs. They work a couple of them to pay their bills. Illegals come in and take those jobs. What happens to the Americans who depended on those jobs? Welfare is what happens and that comes from the tax payer which illegals are not. It does all make sense if you just THINK. If they want to come here (registered) and pick apples fine. If they all go home we'll be fine. You know, slaves used to do all the farming and it was cheap for the farmer. Was that right..no. This is not right either.
Reply:If you was out of work and could not find a job you would not have to ask that. And the jobs that are there pay less than what they should because of the immigrants working so cheap. They are ruining the country and they have to go!!!
Reply:Because right now the unemployment rate, although it isn't bad, isn't all that great for the US. Also, by running away from, for ex., Mexico, they don't help their own country, they only hurt it. If those immigrants want a better life, why dont they change their own country to make it better all around?
