This woman doesn't care about you if she couldn't be by your side when you needed her most. I have been unemployed and it is the worst possible stretch of time in your life. Move on.

I have zero perspective on your relationship, so I cannot say whether she was justified or whether the fact that you couldn't find a job was the real reason (I generally assume that fickle reasons of that sort are not the real reasons, but hey, it's possible), but the worst that can happen is rejection. Might as well give it a shot.
