Im 24, dating my bf for 4 years...should i go with him b/c he just received a job promotion?

4 hours away from where we live now,...We love each other deeply...considering doing long-distance, but I am terrified that it won't work out. ...Parents absolutely not liking idea, saying I should be engaged or married first, before I run off with him....What should I do?? I'm soo torn

4 years is a long time and the way you sound.....ur in love. dont be scared. I was 24 when I moved THOUSANDS of miles away with my bf. now we're married and very happy. i dont regret it. it may be hard at times primarily. it was for us. YOU"RE the one who will have to start from scratch. finding new friends, school, job, etc. he's already set up (as was my husband at the time). but if you two dont give up it will bring you closer. good luck either way.
Reply:Well first of all you should always listen to your parents excspecially your mother (she always knows).I second that you should be married first just because you've been going out with him for four years doesn't mean it's still going to last. Today my friend just told me that him and his girlfriend finally broke up and they've been going out for EIGHT years. So you should stay and try long distance if you really like or love each other as relationship wise or friendshipwise it should work out between you two.
Reply:You should NOT go because of a job promotion, if you go, it should be because you love him. Long distance will give him the chance to be with other women, if you can trust him that far away, then OK. Being engaged would be much better, then you could go somewhat guilt free. If he loves you as much as you love him, you two should be able to reach a compromise easily.
