I live in europe b/c of my dad's job. i'm visiting the USA in the summer. What stores are best?

I need to go school clothes shopping during the summer since I'm only in the US for about three weeks. I need a few good stores other than Kohls and Old Navy to get some good clothes that aren't outragously priced. Any opininons?

I live in europe b/c of my dad's job. i'm visiting the USA in the summer. What stores are best?
Where in the US are you? I would just check out the mall closest to you. I like Forever 21 or Charlette Rouse. There are LOTS of differnent stores to chose from depending on where you are. You can also look around on line to find somewhere that has the style and price range you are looking for, then just go to that store. Good Luck!
Reply:I like Boscov's, Victorias Secret %26amp; Charolette Rouse. You should say what part of the country you'll be in %26amp; people can point you in directions other then the big chains

Suspected double murderer, rapist arrested in Idaho Falls

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - A suspected double murderer from Mexico was arrested here yesterday during a joint operation among U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the U. S. Marshals Service, Idaho State Police and the FBI.

Joel Randu Escalante-Orosco, 32, has an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Mexico for raping and murdering his sister-in-law in Chihuahua, Mexico. He's also the prime suspect in a similar rape and murder of a single mother that occurred earlier in Phoenix, Ariz., in March 2001. Escalante-Orosco and the Phoenix murder were highlighted on the "America's Most Wanted" television show.

Escalante-Orosco was arrested at 7:30 a.m. at his apartment in the 1800 block of 16th St. in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Federal agents had received a tip that Escalante-Orosco was in the area, and that there was a warrant for his arrest on murder charges in Mexico.

"This significant arrest further demonstrates to criminal aliens that they cannot use the United States as a haven from justice," said Jeffrey Copp, special agent in charge of the ICE Office of Investigations in Denver. "The various law enforcement agencies that teamed up to investigate and execute this arrest represent law enforcement cooperation at its best." Copp heads a four-state area that includes: Idaho, Colorado, Montana and Wyoming.

Escalante-Orosco is currently in ICE custody on immigration violations. ICE is processing him for deportation back to Mexico. However, ICE is also working with Phoenix law enforcement to first determine the status of murder and rape charges there. The U.S. Attorney, District of Idaho, has accepted the case to criminally prosecute Escalante-Orosco for illegally entering the United States.

This arrest is part of the Secure Border Initiative (SBI), a comprehensive multi-year plan by the Department of Homeland Security to secure America's borders and reduce illegal migration. Under SBI, Homeland Security seeks to gain operational control of both the northern and southern borders, while re-engineering the detention and removal system to ensure that illegal aliens are removed from the country quickly and efficiently. SBI also involves strong interior enforcement efforts, including enhanced worksite enforcement investigations and intensified efforts to track down and remove illegal aliens inside this country.

Jobs In New York City??

How is the job market in N Y C right now?? I applied to Bank of America and there starting me off at $10.00 an hour. i get paid that in the bank I work at here in P.A. I was under the impression that NY pay was higher... or is Bank of America bad?

Jobs In New York City??
I think unskilled jobs have standard rates. This sounds like a teller job or something that requires minimal skills. The professional jobs do typically have higher pay wages because they want to attract the best candidates for the jobs, and the cost of living in NYC is extrordinary. The unskilled jobs don't really require the same level of recruiting, and its pretty easy to find a new teller as opposed to say a hedge fund analyst.

I should also note, I'm not suggesting that being a teller is not a good job, however the job requirements are different, you don't need a college degree or years of experience to be hired as a bank teller.

Conversion from C#/SQL Server 2005 to C#/MySQL?

I want to convert a Job Search Site developed in C# for SQL Server 2005 to MySQL.Could someone give me suggestions what steps do i have to take.

There is no support of stored procedures in MySQL and data transactions are carried out through stored procedures in the existing code.

The code for the Job Search Site can be downloaded from this site:

Thankyou very much, regards

Conversion from C#/SQL Server 2005 to C#/MySQL?
first off, I've been exactly where you are. Second, MySQL 5 and later does indeed support stored procedures.

Your hardest part will be making sure to substitute all of the proper types during conversion(Watch nvarchars for when they need to be varchar(255) or Text). My solution was to translate each table first, then I used Toad for MSSQL to export everything as a tab delimited file. I then imported using the import tool of Toad for MySQL into a 5.0.27 MaxDB MySQL installation. Watch your indexes!

Next download the asp ado.net adapter from MySQL. Change your connection manager and your configuration file. Convert your stored procedures but be very careful here. Postgres SQL (the language underneath MySQL) does not support the Transact SQL method of selecting tables into anything. To make your temporary tables you'll have to get a little more creative and creat all of your tables first, and then truncate from them. That said, the overhead you'll save by not creating and deleting tables every time you run a stored proc will probably be tremendous.

After the stored procs and the data has been subbed, check formats like datetime, money and other conversions you've had to make to make sure you don't have to write from scratch any conversion methods. test your stored procs in a sample db and then let fly with the debug.

Good luck, it took me about two full days and then two days of debugging to convert about 100 tables and a 4 million plus rows, but in the end things worked out well.
Reply:use Mysql migration Toolkit for database migration. u have to figure out a alternative way for stored procedures.

Tourism supports how many jobs in Canada?

Hi, I have an exam coming up within hours, so any help with this multiple choice question will be immensely appreciated. Okay, here it is:

Tourism in Canada supports about how many jobs?

a) 60 000

b) 600 000

c) 6 million

d) 60 million

In case you're having a moral dilemma, I'll let you know that I'm in no way cheating. This is a sample question given to all students before the exam, but I have a feeling this info will be on the actual test! SO.. if you have any idea, or just want to venture a guess, I'm in need of a lifeline!

Tourism supports how many jobs in Canada?
I would say "b" it is definitely not "d". There are only 32 million people in Canada right now.

After learning C language what type of job i have to do in any company?
well, you see, you can of course learn a language, but that doesn't mean that you can actually make use of it in a professional environment.

it's like you buy a french textbook and make the first exercises, and then think you can work as a professional translator.

Programming, esp. with a difficult language like C, takes years of experience. So let me phrase it differently: the question you're asking implies that you don't have that experience in C, and therefore you will definitely NOT get a C programmer job in a company - unless you get more experience, write some bigger programs which you can show off.

and then you'll get a cool job, because C programming usually is at the heart of the system - network routines, operating system services/daemons, drivers etc.
Reply:That depends up on what type of job you are doing?

If you are in development then you have to develop the codes that means you have to do coding.

If you are in testing then you have to test some code which is given to you and then find out the errors from them.
Reply:C language is computer programming. Look for job as a computer programmer, if you are good enough. It's basically a language(middle-level) where you can create a software, if you are good enough. If you are not, you can always look for job as an encoder, or typist.

What skills do I need to get a Government job in Washington D.C?

OMgosh, right now I am praying for strength to leave this question alone!

ROFLOL

What skills do I need to get a Government job in Washington D.C?
Many Federal Jobs are located in the DC-VA-MD area. Every federal agency has offices in the metro area. Most of the positions are either specialized professionals (Human resources, criminal investigation, IT, ect) or general office work. Some positions are rather unique to the area such as archivists, librarians, monument caretakers.

For the most part, the skills are not different from the the skills needed outside of government employment.

The Duke famalies have a clear case. The motive of the election he won gives clear motive to his intent and ends his imunity.

Are there any sites that give interesting problems for C++ practice?

Hi all,

I'm a bit rusty on C++, and am gonna start looking for jobs soon for this language. I was wondering if anyone knew of any sites that might have some C++ practice scenarios. Like making an object oriented class that represented something in the real world, or any algorithm problems that are more than just a simple stack or queue?

Or if anyone had any unique examples that I might be able to use that'd be great. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Are there any sites that give interesting problems for C++ practice?
The first link is to a free online text book that has exercises after each chapter. If you skim the chapters to refresh your memory and then run through the exercises, I'm sure it will all come back to you. Best of luck.

For more "real world" scenarios, try doing something you find interesting but haven't done before. Try to make an air traffic control simulator to direct simulated aircraft. Try making a web site powered by CGI programs written in C++ that interact with a database. Try writing a stub device driver for whatever operating system you prefer. etc.

Online Jobs?!?

I am currently enrolled in college, and my lectures are at several different times during the week...some mornings, some afternoons. So, a normal part time job won't work for me b/c most employers won't work with me on my hours to come in and be off for studying. I have went through 3 jobs in the last 6mths. My question is...does anyone know of any reliable online data entry jobs online?? I have looked at several, but they are either a scam or want you to pay like $200.00 to get started. I have 6 summer jobs! What 2 do?
OK...First painting the house is not a job..It's part of the family having something..Second..If you're doing points for community service that's just GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! Volunteers are just awesome.

Now working at the family stores...That's work for which I hope you are paid..Even though it's for the family..They should pay you.

All of these are not something you will do every day...All day..Organize your time..Work it out with your parents ..with a good attitude they should help..Good Luck
Reply:Prioritize your jobs and cut back because your going to be burnt out by the time summer is over.
Reply:Do what you can, your not superwoman and dont stress over it either.
Reply:Learn to manage your time really well. There are 7 days in a week, so I'm sure that you can find a way to fit all of that stuff in.
Reply:Quit the ones that dont pay much and stick with the ones youre gonna get more money from
Reply:if you need to drop a job or two it would be babysitting, becasue your mom and dad probably need your help at their stores, or maybe not, maybe you could stop working at your dads store and stop babysitting, then you would have more time, and still have community service points

good luck
Reply:drop the babysitting and hire someone to paint your house! tell your mom and dad to give you more hours!!! you are their daughter they have to pay you extra :)
Reply:work durring the week, leave weekends free. may have to quiet some though

Job Changing A or B or C ???

Now I am in Coy A (US MNC) but due to restructuring may either be retrenched or relocated.

However i got offer from Coy B (local MNC) giving me a lower pay by $100. I am supposed to reply them tomorrow.

In addition i am supposed to attend a last and 4th round interview at Coy C(US MNC) 2 weeks later.

I am in a dilenma as to which path to take ?

To remain in A or go to B or go to C ? Pls advise

Job Changing A or B or C ???
Path C is not a certainty so do not even consider Path C

That leaves you with two certain paths...a and b

A may or may not require relocation which would be an inconvenience in your life

Path B will leave you life consistent and the decrease of your salary by $100 is not substantial at all and if it is an MNC as you say then there will be plenty of room for growth and promotability so you should take Path B

Can you use marijuana legally if you have a C.D.L.?

i have a friend that thinks that marijuana helps his back pain,he drives small dump trucks, and other small trucks on a construction sight, they are small truck but you still have to have a C.D.L. that means the state where he lives does random drug testing, if he has a medical marijuana card from a doctor and test posative for marijuana will he lose his C.D.L. and his job most likely. i work with him and i never seen him use marijuana on the job,and he claims he just uses it after work to take care of his back and sleep better. he is a great truck driver and employee.i dont no how he has got away with it so far but he has.

Can you use marijuana legally if you have a C.D.L.?
No, unless you get an exemption at the state and federal level since drug testing for commercial drivers is done to meet requirements at both levels.

You should contact an attorney further for advice

Whether or not you have a legal prescription, you can not drive while under the influence. The same legal standards are true for alcohol and for prescription drugs. Under the influence is under the influence. There is no gray area here. Even with a prescription, you need to use wisdom.

As far as taking it after work to get to sleep and help the pain is understandable. But he needs to find out where his company stands concerning this matter. I would suggest discretion. But then again, that is just more common sense.
Reply:No. When he goes for his CDL physical, they'll do a drug screen on him. Even with a medical mj card, it's doubtful that the state will be willing to renew his CDL if he tests positive for mj. How does he get away with it? There are ways to cheat on this test. :)

C-section pros n cons?
As a woman whose had 3, c sections ARE NOT anything to be takin lightly and should not, IMO, be carried out to preserve vaginal tightness . It is a very high risk surgery. I have a small pelvis and can not give birth vaginally so that is my only choice, however, last yr our baby girl was stillborn at 39 weeks to a uterine rupture (cause by a previous c section scar).

I honestly don't see why anyone would request to have one of these if they can deliver vaginally.

Also, the scar tissue from c sections can cause implantation problems when you are trying to get pregnant as well as ovulation issues if your scar tissue grows to your other reproductive organs (ovaries, fallopian tubes) , also called endometriosis.
Reply:I have had one c -section already and will be having another one in 25 days and let me say that if that is the reason for having a MAJOR ABDOMINAL surgery then you are seriously tapped. Women can do kegal exercises to tighten that area!

C-sections should be last resort for delivery because of complications making vaginal delivery impossible/too risky. The healing time is longer, the possibilities of infection and blood clot are high. It is NOT the easy way out of giving birth to a child
Reply:I had 2 c-sections and the only advantage I found was that at least you can sit down.(ha ha). I didn't find any disadvantages.
Reply:I don't think vaginal tightness makes any difference either way. No baby goes through for a c-section, but docs are willing to stitch up women after a vaginal birth.

Bladder control - no difference between those who have had a vaginal and those who had a c-section. By the time you hit 50, a majority has some problems. Women who have had a large baby can have bladder problems after the birth. Women who have had a c-section can have bladder problems after the birth because of the surgeon messign with the bladder or later development of scar tissue attaching to the bladder (let me tell you how good that feels, NOT).

C-section is for medical reasons; I hardly think your reasons warrant one at all. However, if I were expecting a baby over 9.5 pounds, I would certainly plan on one
Reply:Before I answer, let me tell you I had my son vaginal. I then got pregnant with twins...one born vaginal and the other ceserean, so I've seen both worlds...Actually in the same day! In answer to your question, I had to ask my husband. I asked him if in comparison to pre-delvery with the first child, how was it...He says the "tightness" is the same. Anytime a woman is pregnant, she will have residual problems with bladder control, even if it is ceserean.

There are far more cons to cersereans than pros. She is more exposed to infection and greater risk to developing sepsis. She is at higher risk of increased blood loss and hemorhage. Much more pain during recovery, as well as a longer recovery time. Risk of infection at incision site after birth and incision care are also related to cecerean birth. Plus, she will still have vaginal bleeding for a few weeks, as does vaginal deliveries. Fot the baby, you also have more respiratory problems with ceserean babies. When born vaginally, they get pushd through the birth canal and this helps push the fluid out of the babies lungs.

Pros are being able to set your date and knowing exactly when your baby will come! Also if the mother has some STD's, by having a ceserean birth, this can rotect the baby from contracting it.

Over all, a vaginal birth is less recovery, less expense, and better for the mother and the baby. Plus, I don't think they will do a ceserean unless medically neccesary. Good luck.
Reply:There are so many risks having a C-sec, I've had 2. The recovery is really hard, there is a risk of infection (mine did get infected and I had to be admitted for 2 additional days) Baby's tend to have a tougher time learning how to latch on for breastfeeding, I'm not sure why but both of my boy's had this issue and the doctor explained c-sec babies have a tougher time. Sure it will preserve vaginal tightness (such a guy concern) but after having a baby naturally everything goes back to normal. It dialates for a reason, it is quite common for ripping to occur during delivery but stitches fix the problem. You can't have any sexual intercourse for 8 weeks after a C-sec is performed. I just know it is a painful surgery to recover from you use your abdominal muscles for so many things, it hurts to even cough for weeks after this kind of surgery. But the pros are you get to by-pass the labor pains, and at the end you still get a beautiful baby!
Reply:I had a c-section and I don't think are any pros to having one. It should only happen it is medically necessary. C-sections are major surgery in which many complications can arise. The biggest ones are blood clots and infections.
Reply:Yes, if you consider the logistics of it all. A cesarean is an abdominal surgery....so it would not effect anything else. However, no OB is going to do a CS for that reason
Reply:A c-section without a medical need is always a bad idea. It is much harder recovery and, well lets face it, its major abdominal surgery. The female body was designed to give birth vaginally and, barring certain medical complications, it is always better to give birth vaginally.

My boyfriend works 2 jobs?

My boyfriend of 5 months works until 8 at night between his 2 jobs so I only really see him on weekends. He lives 40 min from me. We have strong mutual feelings for each other. He is 30 I am 26. I have been really patient and accepting of the job situation but its hard b/c I miss him during the week. We talk everyday and he calls me all the time. I have never had to deal with a situation like this before. Sometimes I feel a little disconnected during the week but when we see each other it is sooo great. Everyone tells me that its not gonna hurt our relationship, but I get insecure at times. My boyfriend recently came to me and told me that he greatly appreciates that I understand and am not angry and that he knows that him working this 2nd job makes our time together limited. He also told me that he doesn't plan on keeping it long-term. Can someone give their opinion of my situation. I guess I am just missing him and worried that the distance may hurt our relationship.

My boyfriend works 2 jobs?
40 mins ain't nothing. a little bit of insecurity is ok. don't be hounding every free minute he has. if he's working 2 jobs then he's obviously trying to make it somewhere. don't give him a hard time cuz that'll only push him away. just accept the fact that he's working. emotionally support him and he'll realize how wonderful you are. and always leave happy memories.

Where can i find a jod in washington d.c at 15years old.?

where can i find a job in washington d.c

Where can i find a jod in washington d.c at 15years old.?
First, you need to get a work permit. If you're under 18, you cannot be legally hired for a job unless you have a work permit signed by a parent or legal guardian. You can usually find the paperwork for a work permit in the guidance counselor's office at your school.

After that, you're probably going to be relegated to minimum-wage menial labor for your first job, given the fact that you're 15 and have no work experience. Look at places like fast food joints, grocery stores, etc. One possible exception: libraries will sometimes hire young folks like yourself to shelf books.

You can try searching the Washington Post jobs section online. They always have tons of listings, and sometimes companies will put out a cattle call for unskilled labor. You should be looking for an ad that specifically states no experience or college degree required.

Open office gives you the option of saving your documents as a PDF file if you do this then there shouldn´t be to many problems at the other end as most office PC should have adobe installed

Click file and look for export as PDF and save to a folder on your PC,hope this helps.
Reply:Without ORIGINAL Microsoft Word, you do not have a genuine software on your laptop.

With your fearful mask on, no one will offer you a job.
Reply:Is there any way you could scan you CV and send it as an attachment that way? What type of file are you currently using?
Reply:Hello -

There are a couple of options for you.

Most computers nowadays have Microsoft Works pre-loaded on them. It has a word processor program that is capable of saving a document as a Word format .doc.

Also, another acceptable format (and $$$ saving if you don't have Works) is to use Wordpad, located in the Accessories folder.

In addition to Wordpad saving files under the .txt extension, it can also save under the rich text file extension, .rtf, which can also be opened by MS Word.

Hope this helps and saves you a few bucks. Good luck!
Reply:You don't say what (if any) word-processing software you do have.

Some wp packages will allow you to save a file in Word format. (See if there is a File/Save As option).

For example, Microsoft Works (which is bundled with Dell PCs) has it's own format for documents, but using File/Save As you can create a Word document instead.
Reply:I agree with Ed. Check out Open Office. It has all the features of Word, but it's FREE, and it uses the .DOC extension as well so your people can open your resume.

Also look for a free PDF converter. Then you can convert your documents to Adobe Acrobat's PDF format for free. I believe there is one out there.
Reply:You have a free Word Processing program called WordPad which is a scaled down version of Word but it adequate for creating a CV. You can create .rtf (rich text format) documents that can be opened in Word.

Start %26gt;%26gt; Programs %26gt;%26gt; Accessories %26gt;%26gt; WordPad
Reply:u can download MS office from the internet..best way to load Ms office is through cd..otherwise u can download pdf converter .by using thi su can convert any document to pdf..u can send ur pdf resume....but i suggest u to get MS office from ur friends..becoz most recruiters prefer in MS Word only...
Reply:Why not just paste it directly into the content of your email. I got a lot of CV's like that and have no problem with it.

Most recruitment agencies put CV's into their own format anyway, so it will make little difference to them.
Reply:You do not say what program you are actually using, is it Works, Notepad or Wordpad. If it is any of those they will be able to be opened up in Word. If it is another program save as an rtf or txt format and again they can be opened in any text processing programme.
Reply:I have downloaded the FREE "Open Office" which is great.

Would this suit you?

How much does it cost to live in or around D.C.?

I live in RI and may be offered a job in Washington D.C.- the salary range is $47,000 to $57,000. In RI I would be all set (I could afford my rent, transportation, food and clothing and have enough left over to save and enjoy life) but am not sure how that translates in D.C.- Would I still be living pay check to pay check?

I've been in college almost 7 semesters already, I've already failed 3 classes b/c I put my job first? Anyhelp

I am 21 working on associates degree...will I make it if I keep up??

I've been in college almost 7 semesters already, I've already failed 3 classes b/c I put my job first? Anyhelp
You will make it if you just don't give up. However, is it possible to adjust your work schedule so you can study more? Or maybe even get a different job? For example, a security guard, especially on night duty, has lots of time when he can study if he is simply alert to any problems. He only needs to make rounds once in awhile. Or perhaps attendant for a patient who is asleep some of the time. Or a driver who can read a textbook while the passenger is engaged in business. There are many such jobs, and it might be worth your while to investigate them. Then, too, you may benefit from a close look at your study habits. Are you making the best use of the time you have? And your course selection: did you fail one or more of those three classes because you had chosen a course that was really over your head?

Talk to your school counselor, and see if there are ways you can ease the burden. But don't give up. Even if you only take one course a semester, you'll get there eventually.
Reply:i think you should concentrate on ur studies first.
Reply:You just need to master the art of Time Management. :)

If I may say, we are almost in the same lifestyle.
Reply:keep going to school and change your work schedule or change your job and keep at it

Do i have a chance of moving to the O.C??

im a 19year old female from england and its always been my dream to live in california or florida!

im an advanced beauty therapist and im currently studying more courses such as holistic courses and business and physcology whilest i gain more salon work experience! ( ive already had 3 years salon experience! )

i was thinking of continuing my studies in england for a few years and then maybe getting a job in the O.C and move with my partner! and then maybe opening a business out there!

Do i have a chance of moving to the O.C??
California is not what it is cracked up to be. If you love pollution, smog, A LOT of traffic, fake people, overpriced homes, lots of gangs and illegal immigrants then all of California is the place for you!
Reply:Oh, you'd be surprised what people in California will pay for salon services. It's all about the Marketing. You supply some boutique, high end products, give your clients a latte while they wait and throw in some good looking employees and you can name your price for services. If your image is high-end, then people will pay high-end prices.
Reply:It's just a tv show and not exactly like it's depicted. But yes, it's expensive. Perhaps try living some place close to it that is cheaper.
Reply:I live in Orange County and it can be expensive, depending on where you want to live. Home prices are leveling off and going down right now, but they still are not cheap. Target the areas you are interested in and get in touch with a knowledgeable, reputable real estate agent to get an idea of prices for homes and rent for apartments and/or homes.

I'm not sure what a beauty therapist it, to be honest. Does that mean you cut and style hair? If so, it's all about building clientele out here. Target some high-end salons in upscale areas like Newport Beach, Huntington Beach and Ladera Ranch/Coto de Caza and see what you need to do to get hired. And, as shallow as it sounds, your accent will take you far around here!!

Ruby or Ruby On Rail easly than C# to learn?

Is it a better option to learn Ruby %26amp; Ruby On Rail to get a job quickly than learning C#? As it seems that C# has a much higher learning curve. Thanks for your answers.

Ruby or Ruby On Rail easly than C# to learn?
Ruby on Rails is a great platform for web development but you will almost certainly not find a job for it. Monster.com is practically bursting with c# positions, whereas I've never even seen Ruby mentioned on any job requirements posting.

As for hobbyist programming, Ruby is great for rapid-deployment applications, but c# is better if you want more control over how much of the deeper core aspects of application development.
Reply:I know ruby, but I know nothing about ruby on rails. But I can say ruby was awesome and quite easy to learn. If RoR is like ruby then id go with RoR! except i know nothing of c# so i gets i am biased lol
Reply:Do you know any other languages? Have you studied or worked in the field. I doubt you are going to get a job if you just go read a Teach Yourself Ruby/C# in 30 days book.

Washington D.C.?

My dad may get a job in Washington D.C., and I want to move there with him (I live in California). Problem is... I'm in the middle of 6th grade, and don't want to leave my friends!

So, shou;d I wait till Summer Vaca to move, or should I just move?

Washington D.C.?
Do what feels right to you, but it seems it will be somewhat disruptive to move in the middle of the school year. So why not move after school ends!
Reply:I hope you love it here. Also, maybe your friends (and their families) will come visit you from California if you live close to Washington. It's a great city with a huge amount to see! Report It

Reply:This is the sort of decision that adults usually end up making for you, unfortunately.

If you end up having to move now, there's one advantage. While you'll be "the new kid" for the rest of this school year, by the time the new school year starts in September you should already be one of the gang, with friends to have lunch with and do stuff with. You should also have some Washington friends to hang out with over the summer, which wouldn't be the case if you waited until the summer to move.

Either way is tough, but be sure to talk with your dad and any other adult you trust to help you make the right decision.
Reply:ummm i would wait till school is over [=

Which language has more job opportunities attached to it. C++ or Java.?

is C++ dead? is Java going to die%26gt; I have heard so much misinformation about each.

Which language has more job opportunities attached to it. C++ or Java.?
I think if you do web page stuff, lower end stuff Java might still be relevant, but if you want hard core programming and higher paying jobs, you will have to know C++, C# and object orientated programming.
Reply:Well as fast as technology changes and new languages and techologies develop... it's hard to really tell. I believe things are starting to move towards C#, which is similar to C++.. so that may not hurt to know..

As far as Java.. I think it's also dying out.. but JavaScript, AJAX are related... and still used so I think you'll find it even.. and benefical to know both.
Reply:Both definitely will have jobs, though I would say that I've seen Java asked for in jobs more than C++, but both are good skills to have. I would go with whatever one you enjoy more, you will be better at the one you enjoy more and produce better programs. Also, once you learn one mainstream programming language it is much easier to learn another, so knowing both may not be a bad idea.

Which job should I choose? Job A, B or C?

Dominos Pizza.

Seems like an okay job.. I can get as much as 40 hr in the summer time.. %26amp; it looks a little boring. I can probably like do my homework there. In the free time. %26amp; probably txt on my fone.I dont know anyone who work there and they are all older people. I went to the interview and I am hired!

Subway A-

I am hired here also. The manager was like okay. I am posting the schedule.. %26amp; he seems very strict. He said no friends hanging out no txting no nothing.. %26amp; those ppl kinda tense there.. Kinda scares me.

Job c sounds the one you are most interested in. Take the one you like the most even if it is a little less salary.
Reply:why don't you call and ask for the wages for each job. This is something that should really be taken into consideration before accepting a job. What if one pays $10 an hour, but the other only pays $6 an hour. Befoe accepting any of the jobs, you should find out the pay and then make your decision.

Reply:Most metals melt before you get to 3000°C. Tungsten has a melting point of 3410.

Most common ceramics aren't even very usable at thoes temps, and depending on the thermal stresses may fracture if there is a 3000°C difference across them.
Reply:at 3000c most of the lighter metals are molten so they would be able to carry the heat as a liquid does

I wouldnt use sodium or the lower metals as they are highly reactive

ie they WILL go BANG

probably aluminium or copper

a further problem is that it would have to be a multi stage transfer operation using progressively lower heat transfer mediums very expensive

but if you actually mean insulators that would be a much simpler operation probably ceramics or some variation

I'm not familiar with Maryland, but you should apply for a state job. They don't pay squat to start, but there is a lot of opportunity for upward mobility and the benefits are out of this world!!! In Delaware, after 90 days, you get full medical, dental, life insurance, retirement plan and various other perks, in addition to 12 paid state holidays off per year and 15 vacation days and 15 sick days per year accrued monthly beginning your very first month (9.5 hrs per month). It's not a bad idea. I was in your situation not too long ago!!!

Oh yeah, I sent you an email about this too.

Monster , Yahoo Hotjobs, Careerbuilder are some of the largest job boards, where you can apply for jobs and upload your resume. Since Craigslist, allows free job postings, many smaller companies post their vacancies on this online classifieds website. You can also search for jobs from multiple websites using aggregators like SimplyHired and Indeed. Referrals are also becoming a increasingly popular way to get hired.

Can anyone suggest any businesses, organizations, foundations, etc. to look in to? I've tried searching Monster.com, Craigslist, etc. but would like some other suggestions....

Looking for a job in the Washington D.C. area...?
For the DC area, your best bet is to look for jobs at www.washingtonpost.com. They have tons of local jobs on there. Many of the museums in DC are part of the US government, so you may want to check www.usajobs.gov. Another site (for non-profits, etc.) is www.idealist.org.

Good luck!

Why do you HAVE to do religous studies for a g.c.s.e?

in my school it is a necestity and you have no choice ..

i was wandering wat the point is?

Why do you HAVE to do religous studies for a g.c.s.e?
There is no point.

Religion is nothing but blind belief, dogma, bigotry, superstition, the preservation of vested interests and the exploitation the weak-minded. The conclusion is, therefore, that God is a both a fantasy and the delusion of fools.
Reply:You do not have to.

You probably go to a faith school, or a state school maintained largely by a faith group which will have a lot of influence on its curriculum.
Reply:Life skills, learn about other cultures, understanding peoples beliefs.
Reply:Even if you are not religious it is important that you learn about the world's important religions. There is so much going on in the world right now that has religious overtones, that is necessary to have at least a basic idea about them to be able to make sense of current events.
Reply:in reference to jobs and having the gcse grade just improves your awareness of other religions and the traditions of the cultures. in my personal experience and to jobs it shows that you are equally open to respect other culturs, ethnicity etc. .
Reply:It help to empathise with people from different 'ethnic' backgrounds when you get into work.. You don't want to be fired for saying something and the listener takes it out of context. Racism, or a lack of care, when talking to people of different ethnicities and religious background beliefs to yourself is gross misconduct in many workplaces, so do yourself a favour and learn the basics about religions now so you don't get the sack from the future job you might like!! *shruggs*
Reply:its an easy A, dont complain

Its multi-cultural brainwashing though, so take it with a pich of salt.
Reply:Because schools get extra funding for it! And it's part of a government initiative to pretend that we're a Christian country. But stick with it, you might actually find it interesting if you pay attention and treat it like a "real" subject!
Reply:i dont no to be honist , i have to do it do , apparently its compulsary and set by the gouv !

What's the impression of "c'um laude" on the diploma? Does it matter for prospective employers?

Prospective employers that pay high salaries and/or admit superlative grads in prestigious institutions, i.e. think tanks %26amp; government/business positions.

Will the impression help with these following distinctions on the diploma:

Summa c'um laude

Magna c'um laude

C'um laude

The 'higher' the distinction, the more prestigious in picking the pool of candidates with similar honors (including simply 'c'um laude') for the demanding yet luxurious job position?

Do "egregia c'um laude" and "maxima c'um laude" exist at some American universities that issue diploma with one of these distinctions?

What's the impression of "c'um laude" on the diploma? Does it matter for prospective employers?
Since these honors at graduation are given based upon the GPA, knowing that you graduated with honors would be redundant to any employer who cares about grades, since you would already have had to tell them your GPA.

Jobs for an average computer science major?

I recently graduated from college with a degree in computer science. My GPA was a horrible 2.7. I've always been a smart student but I picked the wrong major and went to a wrong college. I didn't know much about computer but I was interested in it. I thought I would learn a great deal in college but seriously the main professor for computer in my college didn't know anything about programming languages at all. Plus I messed up really bad in my third year in college (drinking, smoking) . I really regret not achieving my goals in college and not fulfilling my potential. Now I'm done and I have absolutely no confidence in my ability to find a job. I took VB, C++, and java along with networking, data analysis, MS Access and few other things. But I didn't learn much from that professor who didn't know much himself. Is it still possible for me it find a job? If so, then how? I have straightened myself out since last year and I am a bright student. Help me.

Jobs for an average computer science major?
Most employers don't look at the GPA. You should only put it on your resume if it's over 3.5 anyway. You could start out in tech support and work your way up. They kind of expect beginner tech support people to be clueless. Try and get some certifications like A+ and MCSE. Or, if you're really not interested in computers after all, you could move into a different profession and still have the degree behind you.

I may have contracted Hep C,and am a nurse.Do I have to disclose to my job?

I recently found out that I hep C and don't know how I contracted it and want to know does anyone know where

I can look up my rights. I may have contracted it from my job but have never reported a needle stick,or anything like that. Will I get fired from my job? Should I report this? I'm so scared about this. Any website where I can look.

I may have contracted Hep C,and am a nurse.Do I have to disclose to my job?
The CDC has stated that infected health care workers who perform activities which may be prone to tranfer of body fluids may pose a small risk to patients.

As such, and in order to protect the patients, you should submit to testing by your employer or submit copies of your confirmed test to your employers human resources department. They may place you in positions which do not place any risks to patients. If these positions are not available then you may be fired.

Current studies indicate that most transmission is by direct transmission of body fluids, and that sexual contact has a minimal risk but may be responsible for as much as 20% of new cases. Therefore you should always report any fluid contamination during work exposures. Failure to dio this would normally make one assume, that you were not using universal precautions at the time, and did not want to be involved in the incident reporting process. However, if you had reported the possible exposure, seroconversion and a positive Hep - C would have provided you with worker's compensation funds for the $700-$1400 per month for interferon therapy.

Best wishes. But don't compond your last mistake by not informing someone now and possbly infecting a patient by exposing them.
Reply:i would report it and make sure that the employer knows my only source of exposure is patients,

heres the bigger picture, you hubby or wife is now at risk,

hep c is bad news, get a test and find out if you have it,

I hope you only hear that you don't have anything wrong
Reply:You must report this. If you don't and you infect someone, jail is worse than losing a job, don't you think?
Reply:You people are brutal, this is not a criminal, she is asking a question operative word IS "MAY HAVE,recently found out " just because

there was no actual needle stick doesn't mean it was not contracted by other means, vomit, body fluids, etc at the workplace. She sounds just like she is scared.she is asking

for information not criticism. You people are a mess and very

judgemental.
Reply:If you didn't report a needle stick (which you were required to do), then unfortunately, you can't hold your employer responsible.

People don't realize (nor is it publicized that much, which is a mystery to me) that Hep C is also sexually transmitted.

You don't have to report Hep C (you are protected by HIPAA) to your employer, but MORALLY you should disclose it if you accidently cut yourself and bleed on a patient..b/c Hep C is transmitted via body fluids, and the hospital may require you to be tested in the event this happens, as part of your employment.

The reason you don't have to disclose it is because it cannot be transmitted through casual contact...if you ever contract something that can be, then as a heathcare worker, you are NOT in a protected class and must disclose.
Reply:You have to look at the greater good.....and the greater good is to come clean to protect innocent people you may come in contact with.
Reply:a nurse not disclosing that they've contracted hep c -- sounds like another good reason to rush down to the hospital for healthcare

yes, it's all about your rights and not that of the patients.
Reply:Are you really a nurse? I don't know any nurses that would even think to not disclose any illness.
Reply:Yes, you have to report it to your employer, good news, they cannot fire you. hep c is not transmissable by casual contact, you won't be able to draw blood obviously, but there is no other thing you must avoid as a nurse. If you had a needle stick at some time and didn't report it, you have no one but yourself to blame for your situation. Had you reported it, the hospital would be responsible for treatment you may need, now it's on your dime, foolish girl, should have paid closer attention in school when they taught you about the legalities involved in nursing.
Reply:I don't know if you have to tell your job, but you should. If you can't give it to your patients then the hospital isn't going to fire you. But if you can infect your patients and tell nobody then you are asking for some serious karma. Could you really live with yourself if you infected someone?? Didn't you take some kind of oath to only HELP people?? You're the nurse, you should know the risks of not telling anybody. How would you like it if the tables were turned?? If you don't report this, you better believe it WILL come back and bite you in the a**. Please do the right thing. If you lose your job, it's not the end of the world.
Reply:You are obligated to inform your employer of your medical status. Due to the safety/health-sensitive nature of your profession, you are obligated.

Your employer will take the necessary steps to protect you and your patients. Your employer can not fire you, unless it directly effects your ability to perform your job functions. If it does, they will work with you to try to find a suitable position that will utilize your skills and minimalize your exposure. If they can't find an acceptable alternative, then yes, they can terminate your employment with them.

If you do NOT inform your employer, and it is discovered later that you have Hepatitis C, or any other transmittable disease that you have not divulged, not only will you be terminated, if there are any legal repurcussions, you will have to deal with these as well.
Reply:Being in the medical field you have to let your employer know

I have a b/f that always works and he is mad b/c I got a job sometimes I am at work when he calls @ 2am,help!?

I cant wait around for him and I am earning money for my dream car...what do I do? He is two years older than I am. He is planning for us to do things together when he is off work but it conflicts with my job and I am making great money at this job. I really dont know what to do bc I have never felt like this with anyone else and I dont want him to think I am choosing money over him but that seems to be the only way it breaks down....HELP ME PLEASE!

I have a b/f that always works and he is mad b/c I got a job sometimes I am at work when he calls @ 2am,help!?
You've got to take care of you and do what is best for you. Discuss this with him...if he's too selfish to accept that you have a goal and are willing to work to reach it, then you don't need him. The world doesn't revolve around him and his whims...if he really cares about you, he'll give you kudos for what you are doing, and support you and your decision...

I think it's great that you're working for something you want...possibly he lacks the maturity to deal with that idea or is used to being given what he wants without having to earn it...either way, he has to realize that for most of us, we work for what we want or we don't get it...you should not have to give up your dream, for someone who is selfish...the car will give you joy much longer if it comes down to having to choose...
Reply:You are a smart girl and you are absolutely right in what you are doing.... If he loves you and it sounds like he does he will have to understand and get used to it.... Everyone has to work today and at least you have goals and take a stand and go for what you want in life. that is to be commended.... you are being your own person and you want someone to love you for whom you are right?! so you go girl.......
Reply:No matter how much money you make, it is up to you to make the choice of following this career path or giving it up for him. If he truly does care about you, he should be able to put aside the fact that you work different hours then he does, and the two of you should be able to make arrangements to see each other when your schedules allow you to. To be blunt, if he cannot work with you and your schedule, then you might want to question his commitment to your relationship.
Reply:b/f's come and go. and they make new cars all the time. man tough choice. good luck
Reply:Well your bf should respect the fact that your doing something and going after something you really want. He should back you 100% and encourage you and try to work his scheduale around yours to make it work. Cause if you guys are really in love then it will workout. If not then its just not meant to be. Cause you have to remember love is a two way street you can't get it wothout recieving it and sometimes that means making sacrifices.
Reply:since when does love not involve sacrifice at times in order to achieve certain goals? Explain to him I need to earn money for a car!! Then tell him I will renegotiate my schedule after that car is bought and paid for!! perhaps if he sees an end to the conflict in schedule he can be patient and wait!
Reply:Put yourself first. He obviously is. Tell him what you are doing and why you are doing it and if he can't accept it then move on. You are too good for him.
Reply:girl go for that dream car, and you making good money. make plans when it is right for the two of you, what about weekends? he should understand and deal with it! sound like he a brat!
Reply:Oh please .... If he made enough to take care of you both, and buy your dream car for you then there would not be a problem.

He feels inadequate just like 80% of all guys.

You keep working. and let him know that you love him not for his money! LOL!
Reply:I think you need to take a closer look at your boyfriend. He sound's like a controller!!Big time!!If he can't give you the same "working man's" respect, that you give him...It may be time to move on and take back YOUR LIFE!! You've got some serious thinking to do.Get started!!
Reply:its not choosing money over him, it priorities and he can also spend time with you on your lunch break or his, but even a Little time together help

Boys...Are boob jobs "hot"?

Hmm well see here...

i have like...small C boobs, and i want a full C.

But my boyfirend says boob jobs are un attractive.

and so do alot of my friend boys.

is it really going to be like... not pretty if i just go up a little in size?

Boys...Are boob jobs "hot"?
blah...you do it ill smack your pretty little head. :P
Reply:No. Boob jobs are unnatural, and are really a "look but don't touch" kind of thing. They only attract the shallow types who equate a woman's attractiveness with her cup size.

Oh, and they're particularly off-putting when they're too large for the woman's body, which happens altogether too often.
Reply:It depends, not all plastic surgery is good. Its good to get a professional medical first. I was a breat surgeon last Halloween so did get my share of boobs and could see difference between the good and bad implants.
Reply:keep the small c's they look good.
Reply:trust me small boobs are nice

if your skinny and have c cups then your find

if your fat they look alot smaller

Would a programmer make more programming in C#.net or VB.net?

I've been applying for VB.Net programming jobs but figure try a C#.Net position both languages work the same with asp.net so figured why not

Would a programmer make more programming in C#.net or VB.net?
They are the same. VB (.net or other) is just a lot more wordy. Its C# counterpart uses a lot more brackets and semicolons, and is much easier to read. It contains a SMALL bit more functionality, but almost negligible. Paywise, I would pay the same for an employee, unless the employee has experience in other technologies, databases, and programming languages.

Now if the question was for c++ versus classic VB, the C++ employee has a much higher skillset. But Vb.Net and C#(.Net) produce the same results, with nearly exact same code, and are functionally the same.

So - bottom line, it depends on experience. The languages themselves are virtually identical.
Reply:It is not the language that you know, it is the way you handle salary negotiations. I know a dumb azz network adminstrator that barely can cut on a computer that makes more than I do.

And i am a C# (and VB.net ,C++, Perl, PHP, etc.) programmer.

RJ
Reply:Although the two languages are very similar in syntax and perform similarly since they both compile to Intermediate language, C# is more in demand.

It is a myth that C# performs better however there is a grain of truth in that. VB.NET allows you to take actions that hinder performance. Such actions might not be possible to take in VB.NET.

There is also a reason why C# programmers are more in demand. Most of these programmers used to be java developers. VB.NET programmers usually come from VB6.0 which is less object oriented than java, hence employers are more interested in hiring C# developers.

hope this helps
Reply:C# is a much more complex language than VB.

You can write ASP.NET applications in either C# or VB, but that's just a small subset of the rest of what you can do. VB is easier, C# is more flexible.

Good luck.
Reply:I'm a Java programmer primarily but have had to program in C# and VB on occasion. I thought I had seen something indicating the VB, while still around, is going to slowly fade away in favor of C#. You might want to see if Microsoft has any long range plans listed for the two languages and consider your choice based on that. I personally find both limiting from a cross platform perspective and work primarily with Java in WebLogic so I have a wide range of platforms that I can work on.
